Indus Gas Limited is an international oil and gas exploration and development company primarily focused on India. Indus owns, through its wholly owned subsidiaries, a participating interest in a petroleum concession located in a 4,026 km2 on-shore area in mid Indus Basin, Rajasthan, India, known as Block RJ-ON/6.
Focus Energy Ltd., India is the operator of the Block RJ-ON/6. Focus is beneficially owned by one of the Executive Director and major beneficial shareholder of Indus.
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation of India (ONGC) is the licensee of the Block and as Government of India’s nominee, has a contractual back-in rights under which, ONGC is entitled to acquire a 30% participating interest in each discovered field in the Block. In June 2008, ONGC has exercised this option in respect of the SGL field.
In addition to the Block RJ-ON/6, Indus intends to evaluate other opportunities in India and elsewhere in the oil and gas sector. These include investments in midstream and downstream opportunities in India and potentially farming in other oil and gas blocks.
